" this music is as strong as anything from the more well known modern jazz orchestras of renown. (...) Extraordinary and unknown, how often does that happen???
DowtownMusicGallery, NY/ Bruce Lee Gallanter

« … a strong personality that goes straight to the point but never forgets the beat or the dynamic only great technical skills can provide. So let's relish this album and its undeniable power, and let's see what the future holds – probably something thrilling. Now we know, we are ready for whatever comes next ! »

JazzMagazine /  Lionel Eskenazi
"An energetic, generous and fraternal music mixing written parts and completely improvised passages in a libertarian vein inherited from the great ancients"
Citizen Jazz / Julien Aunos

« A straightforward stance that claims to have its roots in a set of traditions they studied and listened to a lot – from jazz to East European musical practices (…) an intelligent and demanding sound whose foremost concern always remains groove, swing, obviousness. »
Djam la revue / Pierre Tenne

The Healing Orchestra sounds as an energetic collective that plays with great passion and sense of urgency.
Wacrenier extensive knowledge of the jazz legacy as well as of African ancient musical tradition enables him to suggest a highly personal language that moves freely between the compositional ideas and improvising strategies of Charles Mingus Ensembles or the Art Ensemble of Chicago, pianists like Randy Weston and Abdullah Ibrahim and the orchestral works of double bass and guimbri player William Parker.

emancipating joy and creative spirit of rebellion.

It is thought as a forum taking its origins in the great legacy of Free Jazz, Great Black Music, and Folk Traditions. Like the "workshop" of Charles Mingus, William Parkers's Little Huey Orchestra or the Akosh S Unit, the orchestra manages to perform a powerful and beautiful symbiosis between written music and free improvisations, between avant-garde and folk musics.

Healing Orchestra is built upon the following philosophy :
-A total freedom in the use of playing, writing, and improvisation technics, at the service of music.
-A living, collective sound, built with and by the initiatives and personnality of each individual.
-A vision of music, art and culture beyond the opposition between avant-garde and tradition, that aims at a social and emancipatory ambition.
Healing Orchestra gathers numerous musicians from the jazz and avant garde parisian Scene. It is thought as a forum creating a strong and generous Music that takes its origins in the great legacy of free jazz , Great Black Music, and folk traditions. Like the "workshop" of, Charles Mingus, William Parkers's Little Huey Orchestra or the Akosh S Unit, the orchestra manages to perform a powerful and beautiful symbiosis between written music and free improvisations, between  avant garde and folk musics.
